Ibn Luhay'ah narrates on the authority of 'Abdullaah ibn Ja'far that the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) said:
((The one who is most prepared to give fatwa, is the one who is most prepared for the Fire)).
[This refers to those who put themselves forward considering themselves prepared, when in actual fact they are not qualified to do so, wAllaahu A'lam!]

Shaykh Waseeullaah `Abbaas said:
"We vote for the candidate as long as he is presently benefiting the Muslims or promises to benefit the Muslims in the future, even if he is not a Muslim. It would be inappropriate for the Muslims to refrain from voting for this individual, especially if the leader of the Muslims can dictate terms, conditions, and other stipulations on him as a result of the Muslims voting."

O noble Shaykh, Which is better: To spend ones time in giving da’wah (call to Allaah), or to spend it on gaining knowledge?
To gain knowledge is better and takes precedence [over giving da’wah]. And it is possible for the student of knowledge to give da’wah while he is gaining knowledge. And there is no way that one could give da’wah without knowledge; Allaah Ta’aala said:
{ Say (O Muhammad): “This is my way, I invite to Allaah with sure knowledge.”} [Yousuf: 108].
So how could there be Da’wah without knowledge?! And no one has ever given Da’wah (before) without knowledge, never, and whoever gives Da’wah without knowledge will not be successful.
