The Shaykh (rahima-hullaah) mentions:
((There is no comparison between one who has knowledge and one who does not, just as there is no comparison between the living and the dead, and one who hears and one who is deaf, and one who can see and one who is blind.
Knowledge is light with which one is guided, and with it removes one from the darkness (of ignorance) to the light (of knowledge, i.e. Islaam).
With knowledge, Allaah raises the ranks of whom He wishes from His creation:
{Allaah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge}, [Soorah al-Mujaadalah, Aayah 11].))

Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah said:
"Amongst the deluded are those who think that their obedience is greater than their sins. This is because they do not take themselves into account or count their sins, but they count and remember a form of obedience that they practice, like one who practices Istighfaar with his tongue and glorifies Allaah a hundred times daily, then backbites the Muslims and tears up their reputations, speaks with what Allaah is not pleased with all day."

Indeed the Du’aat of evil wish that the Du’aat to the truth are divided, because they know that their unity and co operation is a cause for their success, and that their division/splitting is a cause for their failure. Indeed every one of us is liable to make mistakes, so if one of us sees that his brother has fell into error, then he should hasten to get in contact with him and make certain of the affair with him. Because we may think that something is a mistake but in reality it is not.
Just as it is not permissible to make a mistake a reason for dispraising a Da’eeyah and chasing people away from him. This is not from the signs of the believers let alone being from the signs of the Du’aat to Allaah ‘Az wa Jal.
The Da’wah which is intended is the Da’wah that is upon Baseerah as Allaah ‘Az wa Jal said:
{Say (O Muhammad ): "This is my way; I invite/call to Allaah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allaah - Islaamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me. And Glorified and Exalted is Allaah (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikoon (polytheists).} [Yusuf/108]
Baseerah is [applied] in:
1) What the person is calling to;
2) The state of the people he is calling;
3) The method of giving Da’wah.
Baseerah in what the person is calling to requires that one has knowledge. So one should not speak except with knowledge that what he is saying is the truth, or with what he has Ghalib adh Dhan (predominant opinion/assumption) that it is the truth, and this is if it is permitted to have Ghalib adh Dhan in that particular issue that he is calling to. But that one calls while he is in a state of ignorance, then indeed he will destroy more than he will establish as well as having fallen into a great sin. Allaah Sunhaanahu wa Ta’aalah says:
{And follow not (O man, i.e., say not or do not or witness not) what you have no knowledge of. Indeed the hearing, sight and the heart, one will be questioned of all of those (by Allaah).} [Al Israa/36]
From the requirements of having Baseerah of the state of the people he is calling, is that he [the Da’eeyah] differentiates in his Da’wah between the ignorant one and the proud, defiant one.
Baseerah in the method of giving Da’wah, is that the Da’eeyah knows how to call the people. Should he call them with force, harshness and by dispraising what they are upon? Or should he call them with lenience and kindness while beautifying what he is calling them to without making what they are upon look hideous.

إن دعاة السوء والشر يحبون أن يتفرق دعاة الحق والخير لأنهم يعلمون أن اتحادهم وتعاونهم سبب لنجاحهم وان تفرقهم سبب لفشلهم.. وان كل واحد منا معرض للخطأ، فإذا رأي احدنا من أخيه خطا فليبادر بالاتصال به وتحقيق الأمر معه، فقد يكون الخطأ خطا في ظننا ولكنه في الواقع ليس كذلك. كما انه لا يجوز اتخاذ الخطأ سبباً للقدح في الداعية والتنفير منه فهذا ليس من سمات المؤمنين فضلاً عن أن يكون من سمات الدعاة إلى الله عز وجل. الدعوة المقصودة هي التي تكون علي بصيرة كما قال الله عز وجل: { قل هذه سبيلي أدعو إلي الله علي بصيرة إنا ومن اتبعني وسبحان الله وما أنا من المشركين} (يوسف:108) والبصيرة تكون فيما يدعو إليه الشخص وفي حال من يدعوهم وفي أسلوب الدعوة.. والبصيرة فيما يدعو إليه الشخص تقتضي العلم فلا يتكلم الشخص إلا بما يعلم انه حق أو بما تغلب علي ظنه انه الحق إذا كان الشئ الذي يدعو إليه مما يسوغ فيه الظن..إما أن يدعو الشخص وهو يجهل فانه يهدم أكثر مما يبني مع انه أثم إثما كبيراً..يقول الله سبحانه وتعالي: {ولا تقف ما ليس لك به علم إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد كل أولئك كان عنه مسؤلاً} (الإسراء: 36) والبصيرة بحال من يدعوهم من مقتضياتها أن يفرق الداعية في دعوته بين الإنسان الجاهل وبين الإنسان المعاند المكابر.. والبصيرة بأسلوب الدعوة هي أن يعرف الداعية كيف يدعو الناس.. هل يدعوهم بالعنف والشدة والقدح فيما هم عليه أم يدعوهم بالين والرفق وتحسين ما يدعوهم إليه دون أن يقبحهم فيما هم عليه. |
