I want to make Hajj to the House of Allaah. However I do not have sufficient funds to allow me to make the Hajj. So my workplace has agreed for me to take from them a loan covering the expenses of the Hajj. This is based upon the agreement that the debt will be repaid by taking the necessary amount/s from my wages when I return. So am I allowed to do this or not and will my action be accepted?
You are allowed to do this. If you make your Hajj with money that is borrowed, then your Hajj is valid. However it is better that you do not do such a thing. This is because Allaah has only made the Hajj obligatory upon the one who is able to perform it. And you (at this moment in time) are not able to perform it. So it is not appropriate for you to take out a loan and thus have a debt over you. A debt which you may not be able to pay back. You may either fall sick, work with the current employer may cease or death might come upon you. So it is not appropriate for you to take out a loan. Rather wait until Allaah (the Mighty and Majestic) enriches you and allows you to acquire wealth, with which you can make your Hajj. Otherwise do not take out a loan in order to make the Hajj.
