The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) said:
((Pray as you see me praying)).

Imaam Sayyid Nadheer Hussayn ad-Dahlawee said:
"This act is based upon the false belief that the dead can listen to the beseeching of the living, that they have the ability to supplicate to Allah on their behalf, and that the supplication of the deceased is accepted because of their piety & holiness."
