Five matters to bring victory to the Ummah

Reference: islamek.net/play.php?catsmktba=1745

Allāh gives victory to the Muslims when they fulfil the conditions of victory and authority.

Allāh, the blessed and most High, said:

{Allāh will surely support those who support [His cause]. Indeed, Allāh is powerful and mighty. They are those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish ṣalāh, give zakāh, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong. And to Allāh belongs the outcome of [all] matters} [20:40]

The context of this blessed āyah contains five causes – if the people of Imān fulfil them – they will be deserving of victory and authority.

1st matter: Establishing tawḥīd and ikhlāṣ

Making all actions sincere for Allāh, the exalted. This includes jihād and all other acts of ‘ibādah (worship). This is taken from the saying of Allāh:

{Allāh will surely support those who support [His cause]} [20:40]

i.e. a person seeks the Face of Allāh through his acts of obedience, he does not desire pride, fame, showing off or to be heard. Rather, he only desires the help and victory of Allāh, the majestic, and to aid the religion

Ikhlāṣ (sincerity) is the greatest cause of authority and victory. Allāh, the blessed and most high, said:

{Allāh has promised those who believe among you and do righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that – then those are the defiantly disobedient} [24:55]

2nd matter: Establishing ṣalāh.

This is by being diligent regarding them and fulfilling them along with their pillars, obligations, and conditions, within the legislated times, as Allāh, the blessed and most high, ordered us.

Ṣalāh, O believers, is also from the greatest causes of victory and authority. Allāh, the most high, said:

{Seek help through patience and ṣalāh} [02:153]

3rd matter: Giving zakāh

Zakāh is given to those deserving of it as Allāh ordered it to be given with goodness from a person’s heart. Through it, souls are purified, and the needs of the poor and needy are fulfilled. zakāh is a cause for the Ummah to be honoured, gain authority, become established and materialistic strength is acquired. Only Allāh knows the amount of evil that is prevented due to giving zakāh, and how much victory and authority is gained due to it.

4th matter: Calling to goodness

This is calling to everything that Allāh and His Messenger commanded, including the obligations of Islām as well as the various voluntary acts of worship. This rectifies people and is an avenue of sincere advice, protecting their honour and authority, which is only attained by them obeying Allāh, and abiding by His laws.

5th matter: Warning against evil

Evil actions bring about harm upon the Ummah, and severe calamities; evil actions are a reason for more evil to become widespread. Therefore, by prohibiting all evil and warning against it, the Ummah is protected from adversities, and a painful ending.

[Conclusion]

We should reflect upon these five great matters that Allāh, the blessed and most high, has combined within one āyah. The Ummah implementing them is the greatest avenue for it attaining authority and becoming victorious, along with success in this life and the Hereafter.

المرجع:islamek.net/play.php?catsmktba=1745
