Scholars Advice

Question: Here [we have] a good question, and I wish to read it out to the Shaykh, [and] it says:

Noble Shaykh - may Allaah protect and preserve you - as-Salaam 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu; I request from your eminence [some] introduction about yourself, since Allaah is my witness - O Shaykh, that I love you for the sake of Allaah, however I only know a little about you.

I implore [you for the sake of] Allaah, and then [request] you to honour us by talking - even if it is a little - about that, and may Allaah reward you the best of rewards.

Response: All Praise is due to Allaah [alone], and may the prayers and salutations be upon the Messenger of Allaah; To proceed:

As for talking about myself, then this is very difficult; However, I [only] briefly [wish to] say: [I am] your brother - Muhammad Amaan ibn 'Alee al-Jaami[1]; I used to be an Associate Professor at the Islaamic University [of Madeenah], as well as Head of the Department of 'Aqeedah in Post Graduate Studies.

And here I am [before you], as you see me.

I am retired, and have devoted myself to work [and spend my time] with the youth. Presently, I am a teacher and guiding instructor in al-Masjid an-Nabawee, and I [also] have lessons and lectures in Jeddah.

[Along] with the youth, I live with (surround by) these problems that you have heard [about].

This is me [this is who I am].

I ask Allaah Ta'aala to grant me and you all towfeeq.

[As for] the brother who made this request, [then] I thank him for this feeling [of love for me for the sake of Allaah], and what he mentioned about wanting to know more about me, however, I [humbly] request that he knows no more than this; That is because Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala - He is the One who knows the true reality of [His] servants, and it is not befitting for us to claim [to have] knowledge or [righteous] actions, nor [noble efforts in] da'wah; We leave all of this for Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala; [Because] Allaah - He is the [only] One who is fully aware of the true reality of His servants.
