Question: The following question was asked corresponding to the Islamic date 1416/2/23 H:

If it’s permissible for you to name a particular shaykh that you had, then who would you regard as having being your main shaykh?

Response: The best of them and the most knowledgeable of them was Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Aal as-Shaykh, (may Allah have mercy on him); he was our Shaykh. He was the one who taught us, through whom we took knowledge from directly and he was the most learned and most virtuous of the scholars. Nevertheless, we also took knowledge directly from other scholars as-well; scholars from Aal as-Shaykh and from other than them, such as:

(1) Shaykh Salih ibn Abdul Aziz who was the Judge of Riyadh.

(2) Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Lateef, (rahimahullah), who was also from the teachers of Riyadh.

(3) Shaykh Sa’d ibn Hamad ibn ‘Ateeq al-Qaadhi, (rahimahullah), who taught in Riyadh.

(4) and we learnt ‘Tajweed’, ( the science of ‘Precision in Qur’anic Recitation’), from Shaykh Sa’d Waqqas in Makkah, (may Allah also have mercy on him).
