Wiping over one sock whilst the other one has been removed

Reference: I’laam al-Mu’aasireen bi-Fataawa Ibn ‘Uthaymeen – Page 33

Question: If a sock is removed, does the [legislated] period for wiping over the other sock [become] invalidated?

Response: If he has removed a sock, then it is obligatory he [also] remove the other sock during the ablution and wash both feet. This is because wiping over the socks is done together [on both feet], so he must not wipe over a sock whilst the other foot is uncovered.
