I sought knowledge for a number of years, and despite that, I have not retained any of the information, and nor do I feel I have benefited; So what do you advise me with?
The Sunnah is a legal proof by itself, upon those who hear it from him, may prayers and peace be upon him, & upon those whom it reaches via authentic chains of narration.
Sometimes we hear some students of knowledge criticising the scholars, saying that they are silent when certain events, tragedies and catastrophes occur.
Their followers [at-Taabi’oon] also passed it on to those who succeeded them and thus did the trustworthy scholars, generation after generation, era after era.
“Indeed the Boolaaq print of the explanation (of Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, namely) “Fat.h al-Baaree” is the best of prints”.
“This is because after the death of Shaykh al-Islaam, the Mu’tazilah and other than them searched for his books and [intentionally] made additions [to the text] within them.”
By Allaah, knowledge has not died, nor have the scholars, all praise is due to Allaah; The Committee of Major Scholars [remains]…
The confining of some youth to themselves & their lessons in some of the homes and memorising amongst themselves and reading to themselves – in [all of] this there is great danger.
The first step towards knowledge is the intention, then it is listening, then it is understanding, then it is memorising, then it is acting, then it is spreading.
Many hundreds of students from numerous Muslim nations worldwide have graduated from the University, & have returned to those communities and other than them – teaching the people.
