Does Zakat al-Fitr have to be distributed locally – 1

Question: I sent my Zakaatul-Fitr to my family in Egypt in order that they distribute it there even though I am a resident of Saudi Arabia. Is this action correct?

Response: There is no harm in that and that action is accepted Insha-Allaah according to the more correct of the two opinions of the scholars. However, to give it out in the place you reside in is better and safer [for your religion].

If you have sent it to your family to distribute it to the poor in your locality then there is no harm.
